Job Description
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the Basis component of SAP systems and will assist in the planning, designing and architecting of SAP systems across the global enterprise. Individuals should be capable of working independently or in teams and have the ability to effectively communicate with customers to gain insight and develop solutions to meet their business needs.
The Basis Admin will install support packs, conduct upgrades, backups/recovery, system refresh and troubleshooting as well as administer databases, conduct failover of production systems, and monitor and ensure performance of SAP systems.
Person will also be responsible for the entire SAP Security and Authorization of all Sap systems. Prior experience in role creation and modification is a must. Ability to collaborate and develop strong partnerships with SAP Functional Analyst, Operations, Help Desk, System Administration, and Networking teams.
Technical Specifications
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP/Basis Administration across multiple SAP landscapes.
• 3+ years of experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Oracle Databases & Basic Oracle Database Administration
• Requires experience in SAP products (SAP R/3, SAP BW, SAP Portal, SAP XI, SAP GTS, SAP Authorizations and Security, SAP Solutions Manager, etc).
• Minimum of 1 SAP implementation and/or 1 upgrades
• Requires extensive experience with SAP Performance and Tuning.
• Ability to schedule and monitor SAP standard system batch jobs.
• A strong understanding of SAP system security and user management.
• Hands on experience on NetWeaver Components namely, Enterprise Portal, Process Integration (PI), Business Intelligence(BI), Global Trade Services(GTS), Supply Chain Management (SCM).
• Expert in Basis administration in both Windows and Unix environments.
• Expert in Lifecycle Management of SAP systems.
• Experienced in Change management and SAP security.
• Experience with SSO configuration and Identity Management
• Experience with Application Link Enabling â€" linking one SAP server to another.
• SAPGUI maintenance and Rollout coordination
• Must be able to pick up new SAP technologies, and develop justification proposals to deploy proof of concept installations.
• Extensive background with installing, configuring and supporting the SAP J2EE stack.
• Moderate degree of independent decision making required for the lead position
• Strong in SAP authorizations and SAP application security
• Experience with SAP roles and profiles build and test
• Good understanding of single-sign-on architecture
