Openings for JAVA Developer (JSP/Netbeans) in Austin, TX (USA)

 

Position: JAVA Developer- JSP/Netbeans

Location:Austin, TX

Duration: June 2010 – November 2010 (possible extension)

  

General Duties: 

·         Perform complex computer programming in Java and analysis work.

·         Analyzing, designing, coding, converting, implementing, maintaining, testing and documenting computer programs.

·         Analyzing end user business processes and automation needs; and providing technical assistance to agency personnel. 

·         If assignment dictates, may manage automated systems within functional areas of TRS and may serve as project leader responsible for the development and implementation of small-scale automation projects. 

·         Work under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

·         Will participate in or lead walk thrus and demonstrations of programs and applications.

·         Will lead special small-scale automation projects.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Responds to requests for assistance routed by Helpdesk staff and troubleshoots and resolves application-related problems, including interacting with agency staff as needed.

Experience documenting programming logic and actions; drafting user procedures.

Maintains and enhances programming and IT knowledge and skills; assists in providing training and technical assistance to IT staff.

Experience with full-time computer programming

Experience managing projects and developing applications utilizing a well-defined systems development lifecycle methodology (SDLC).

Experience with using Struts,

Experience in creating Java Server Pages (JSP's)

Experience in user interface development (including design and programming for usability),

Experience in database access and update,

Strong

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Degree or Equivalent

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (or High School graduation or equivalent and substitute full-time responsible work experience for the required education on a year for year basis).
